Other UFO Organizations And How to Contact Them The UFO Coalition The UFO Coalition is a collaborative effort by the three main UFO investigative organizations in this country. Its goal is to share personnel and other research resources, and to fund and promote the scientific study of the UFO phenomenon. The coalition's members are MUFON, CUFOS and FUFOR, the Fund for UFO Research. MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, headquartered in Seguin, Texas, is the oldest and largest of the three groups. Established in 1969, it now has more than 5000 members, field investigators and research consultants worldwide. It publishes the monthly MUFON UFO Journal (Dennis Stacy, editor) and an annual collection of Symposium Proceedings. Membership dues of $30 per year include a subscription to the Journal. Walter Andrus, Jr., is the international director. MUFON is located at 103 Oldtowne Rd., Seguin, Texas 78155-4099. CUFOS, the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies, was founded in 1973 in suburban Chicago, where its co-founder, the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek, was a professor of astronomy at Northwestern University. CUFOS publishes the quarterly International UFO Reporter (Jerome Clark, editor), the annual, refereed, Journal of UFO Studies, and the occasional monograph and book. Annual membership dues are $25 and include a subscription to IUR. The current scientific director is Dr. Mark Rodeghier. CUFOS is located at 2457 West Peterson Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60659. IUR, the International UFO Reporter, edited by Jerome Clark, is published four times a year by the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS), 2457 West Peterson Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60659. Each issue consists of 32 pages. Subscriptions, which include Associate Membership in CUFOS, are available for $25 per year. FUFOR, the Fund for UFO Research, was established as a nonprofit corporation in the District of Columbia on August 1, 1979. FUFOR is not a membership organization per se. Instead, it raises and disperses research funds for proposals approved by a national board. Each year, the Fund also awards a cash prize, the Donald E. Keyhoe Journalism Award, to both the print and electronic media journalist whose work about UFOs is judged the best among those submitted. FUFOR also issues a number of reports and monographs each year, the sales of which support future UFO research projects. For further information, or an application for the Fund's journalism award, write the Fund for UFO Research, PO Box 227, Mount Rainier, Maryland 20712. Other U. S. and International UFO Organizations and Publications A detailed and comprehensive list of other UFO organizations and publications would be almost impossible. Interested parties should contact the following for specific information about any regular activities, local lectures, membership dues, subscription fees, methods of payment and so on, where not specifically mentioned. This list will be added to and corrected as needed. Publications and organizations are in no particular order at this time.
